While we were on vacation we did not get to have much tummy time or just plain mat time, so today we did a lot of activities on Ella's play mat. This morning I had her on a blanket and she rolled from her tummy to her back...once. I could not get her to do it again! She hasn't quite gotten the hang of pushing with one leg and lifting with her arms, or whatever else might help her accomplish this. We are still in the early stages, but she is already amazing me more and more every day.
However, she did surprise me later on this afternoon. She was lying on her play mat and I was sitting next to her thumbing through "What to Expect the First Year" for info. about rolling over. One minute I was talking to her (while she was on her back), then I looked at the book for a few seconds, and when I looked at her again she was on her STOMACH! It all happened so fast! I tried to get it on camera after that, but had no luck. I did get her trying again, but she was so tired by this time I was only able to catch the frustrating part. Take a look to see what I mean...

Yippeee! Isn't it so funny to see how many hours you just sit and wait for them to do something that will eventually become so easy??!! She'll get it and before you know she'll sit up and then take her first step (and then bite and scream!)
I love how she kept burying her face into the ground trying to roll over...and then finally gave up. Too cute! Reagan hasn't rolled over once (and I would have thought my little butter ball would roll over easily!).
Oh my gosh! This one breaks my heart!! Don't you just wanna help?? :)
