Soccer Mom Already?!

About a month ago we received an email from our local YMCA about a fun soccer program for 2 year olds.  Immediately we thought Ella would love it, and it would be good for her to get out and use some of her energy while learning the basics of an organized sport.  It's just a neat way for them to be introduced to the concept at an early age and begin understanding the meaning of teamwork...perfect!  Well, we had our first "practice" on Wednesday.  It was a hoot!  The kids got a t-shirt with their name on the back,  practiced kicking the ball in the goal, dribbling through the cones, and the best part...a snack. ;)

Looks like she is doing great, right?!  Well, after about 20 minutes, EG and all but 2 of the kids on her team were over it. :) :)  They pretty much just wanted to run around, watch other kids, and eat. Ha!  Every once and a while they would focus their attention on soccer, but for the most part it was just fun to be outside playing.  I think it is expected since they are only 2.  Main goal is to get them in a team situation and learn a bit about it.  This is how the rest of the time went down...

Greeting Grandad when he arrived...

Getting back to the field and playing a bit more...

Picking grass while a "scrimmage" was going on. Ha!

AND last but not least...
Eating fruit snacks WHILE on the field "playing"...love the kid in the background picking grass too. :)
Ella's little fan cheering her on!
The best part...snack and drink time to end the night. :)

One week down, 7 to go!  Should be fun!!! :) :) :)
