We were so happy to see the sunshine today! I don't know about you, but the constant clouds are depressing to me. Ella has been cutting more teeth {she is up to 11 or 12} , so that brought along a terribly runny nose and some fussiness with it. Not a good combo with being stuck inside all week! Today was the perfect day to get out and eat lunch at my grandparents house. I feel incredibly lucky to live so close to them and that they are still able to enjoy their great-grandchildren. Their house has always been one of my favorite places. It is always comfortable and relaxed, and they take such good care of all of us. Nanny always makes a special lunch with dessert when we visit! :)
When we got home, Zach was mowing the yard, so Ella likes to watch him from the window in her room. She will stand there with her hands on the window and say "daddy, daddy" over and over each time he passes by. Her little face lights up every time she sees him. It is so precious to watch!
Waiting on daddy...
There he is!
"Do you see him, Ranger?"
"Good boy!"
I wish this picture had sound. She is really into hugging lately, and when she does she makes the "Mmm" or "Awww" sound.
After he finished we had to go check out the yard...
This next thing is a little random, but I wanted to document it for our sake. When Ella first began to eat table foods we would always put it directly onto her tray. We tried to give her a plate, but she would usually end up dumping the food on her tray and throwing the plate on the floor. So, a few weeks ago I decided to buy her her very own plate from Target with small compartments for her different foods. We tried it out the day I bought it and have used it for every meal since. She has done wonderfully keeping her food on her plate and a lot less ends up on the floor. :) Next challenge...utensils!
Looks like a lot of food, but she will usually eat all of it and then some!
We are looking forward to a nice weekend with lots of things on the agenda. Tomorrow morning we are going to the Farmer's Market on the square for some fresh produce. Later that evening Zach's boss is having a craw fish boil at his home. Should be fun! Sunday will also be my second Mother's Day, and I could not be more excited! Brunch and a fun day with the family!
Happy Mother's Day to all you moms out there!

You can see the excitement in her stance when she spots Daddy in the yard. Precious!
I'm so jealous! We're still chuckin' plates over here... 19 months and counting!!
Okay, I'm glad to know that she is mastering the plate thing. Barrett throws everything off his tray (including food). I've thought about getting a plate/bowl with a little suction cup on the bottom of it.
