Arboretum 2010

Oh how I LOVE this time of year!!! The Arboretum is always on our list of things to do at the beginning of the Fall season.  The gardens not only have the most beautiful flowers, but are transformed into the most amazing pumpkin village.  It is such a neat place to spend time at as a family during this time of year.  Ella Grace was in awe of the houses made of pumpkins and gourds.  She kept the biggest smile on her face the entire time we were there.  It was also so nice to share this for the first time with little Emerson.  We look forward to many years of this tradition in our future!

Looking forward to many fun things in the upcoming weeks!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the Fall season!!!

Dallas Arboretum

Today we ventured out to the Arboretum with my sister and her two youngest boys. Even though the temperature was suppose to be lower today, it was still pretty hot in the sun! I planned on getting tons of fun, summery flower pictures of the kids, but my camera died after getting a few pictures!!! {and none were near flowers} Guess I should have checked the battery before I left. :) I blame it on the camera though...it spoils me b/c you don't have to charge the battery very often at all. Oh well, there is always next time! We still had a fun day filled with exploration, laughing, and a yummy picnic lunch.

There are 14 story book houses set up around the garden for children to play in, and each is inspired by a different children's book. They were amazing! Really wish I could have gotten more pictures. This just means that we will have to go back very soon. :)

This one makes me laugh because it shows just how curious Ella really is...can't even stand still for a picture!

Arboretum Fun

I love the Arboretum during the fall! They have a great pumpkin patch, a maze made from hay, and an awesome house constructed out of pumpkins. It really gets me in the mood for the fall season and all the holidays ahead! I was able to snap a few good pictures of Ella with the pumpkins, but most of them were just of the top of her head. She was so intrigued by the bright orange color of the pumpkins and the feeling of the hay that she would NOT look at me. All she wanted to do was hold on to the stems of the pumpkins and stare at the hay in between her fingers. It was so sweet to watch her discovering things for the first time though. The look on her face was priceless! We had such a great time enjoying the fall-like weather this morning in such a gorgeous setting.

So tired after a fun day!!!
