Sick Girlie

Well, little miss Ella was sick for the second time in a month! She has not ever been sick until these past few weeks. Last time it was just a fever, but this time we had a diagnosis and all.

I noticed her getting a little hoarse on Monday and by the evening she had a faint wheezing sound coming from her chest. Other than that she seemed to be feeling fine, so we put her to bed and went on as normal. At about 11:00 that night she woke up and her breathing sounded like she had smoked several packs of cigarettes. It sounded horrible, but she drank some water and went right back to sleep. Poor thing woke up Wednesday morning with a terribly raspy voice, so I decided I needed to call the doctor and get her in asap! Long story short, as soon as they heard her they had her on a nebulizer doing a breathing treatment to open up her bronchial tubes. The doctor explained that she had bronchiolitis, which is a viral respiratory infection. We were sent home with a variety of meds, and were also the proud new {temporary} owners of a breathing machine. Luckily we only had to do the breathing treatments for a day because Ella was not too fond of the machine! At her follow-up appt. the next day we were sent home with an inhaler to replace the nebulizer.

Check out all the "fun" stuff we came home with that day...

We hads LOTS of play time at the house this week since we couldn't get out around people. Here are a few things Ella did this week to stay entertained:

*We watched plenty of E's favorite cartoons...

*We played with probably every toy we own!
(Yes, her pj's are mismatched! :) )

*She played in daddy's shoes.
As she had them on, she said "I walkin' around..." over and over. :)

*We ate baked oatmeal...it was SO yummy!!!
(I stumbled upon a blog that had a recipe, so we tried it out.)

*Ella loved to read books on the air mattress that daddy slept on in her room the first night she was sick. (It's a little deflated in these pics.)

...She also loved to just roll around and play on it too. :)

Oh!...Let's not forget that I found Miss Ella on her changing table in the guest room too. We don't use it anymore, but it is down for when we get Emerson's room together soon. Little stinker learned how to use the bed to climb onto it!

After almost a week of being cooped up in our house we were ready for a day like today. The weather was beautiful!!! First we worked at the MOPS garage sale, then we went to a friends house to pick up some fun clothes for Emmy, and then to the park with some friends. It was so nice to get some fresh air and be around people! :) Of course we had to make a Sonic run for some slushes on our way home. Ella got her very first Apple juice slush to have on her own, while mommy enjoyed her favorite, lemon-berry. It was a perfect end to our wonderful afternoon out.

So glad to see this face again...

Tomorrow will be another fun day at the Arboretum for family pictures! I also hope to get some good pics of her with the pumpkins out there. I just love the Fall!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Poor girl, I am glad she is feeling better. We have our very own breathing machine down here if you should ever need one again, but hopefully not! Presley had so much fun playing with Ella this afternoon when she and Zach came by. We need to get them together soon, they would love it!

Awww..I had no idea she was that sick. I'm glad she is feeling better! I love the last pictures where Ella looks like she has blush on!! She must have been playing hard. That breathing machine must have made her hair grow because it looks so long now!! :)

All that medicine looks like you're at our house! I hope that is the last you see of it because it is no fun for sure. At least I'm down to one kid with all that stuff and Amelia can do the Xopenex and FloVent with an inhaler now which makes it much easier! It is scary when they are Ella's age and that happens. I'm glad she's feeling better now.

We are coming to Texas in November. We must get together!
