Our little fam headed out to the great State Fair of Texas bright and early on Saturday morning along with Mel and Caysie. We wanted to get there in time to see Selena Gomez sing "Happy Birthday" to Elsie the Borden cow for her 70th birthday! For those of you who don't know, my mom is the director of marketing for Borden, so we enjoy going to show our support at all her fun events. Unfortunately we missed the actual song, but still got to meet Selena, have birthday cake, and dance along with Radio Disney. :) Of course Ella was in heaven since she had cake for breakfast and then washed it down with birthday cake flavored milk!!! {Yuck!} She LOVED it though. Daddy and Ella even did a little hula-hooping to the music too. :)
Ready for the fair!
Playing peek-a-boo with Honey behind the "barn"...
These next few crack me up! Every time Zach would hula-hoop, E would shake and twist her hips along with him. Ha!
It was a very chilly morning, but a perfect time to be out there. No crowds, no heat, and no lines. As soon as the Borden festivities were over, we were off to try some of our favorite fair foods and have some fun. The petting zoo was great and Ella loved naming the animals that she knew and sounds they made. She especially loved the kangaroo that had it's baby in it's pouch.
Enjoying some delicious Texas Twisters...her first taste of "fair food"!
Isn't this guy too cute. Not sure if he even had eyes. Ha!
After visiting with the animals we decided that Ella needed to ride a few rides since she was old enough this year. First stop was the tea cups. Mommy had to ride with her, but it sure was fun! Ella did not want to get off when it was over.
She was counting the bolts on the wheel in this picture...
Will you please look at my sister's face in the background! She does not like things that go round and round. Can you tell? :)
Then it was daddy's turn to ride with E. They chose Winky the Whale. It even had a horn that Ella could push, and she took full advantage pushing it the whole time. :)
After Zach won the girls a few souvenirs, we couldn't leave without getting a picture with Big Tex.
Ella couldn't stop saying "wow" and looking at this big person!
As we were leaving I saw this sign and thought it was funny, but oh so true..
Whew! We were quite tired and ready for naps after our 4 hour fair day. Can't wait until next year!!!
For a flash back of Ella's first trip to the fair, go here. :)
