(I wrote this mainly for a memory that I don't want to forget.)
This post is dedicated to the special bond that Ella Grace and her daddy share that makes my heart melt daily. She absolutely adores him, and his love for her is the most precious thing I have ever witnessed. From the moment she came into this world, she had him wrapped around her little finger, and she was her "daddy's girl".

From the time we brought her home from the hospital, Zach has sang a special song to her. It started out as a lullaby when he would rock her to sleep, then became an anytime song. Now he {and sometimes I} sing it all the time, as well as listen to it in the car. This seems to be the only song that soothes her no matter what. She asks for it every time we get in the car these days and as she listens she waves her hands and whispers "dada" or "daddy" over and over. It seriously makes me teary eyed every time!
"Little Miss Magic" by Jimmy Buffett
Constantly amazed by the blades of the fan on the ceiling
The clever little glances she gives me can't help but be appealing
She loves to ride into town with the top down
Feel that warm breeze on her gentle skin
She is my next of kin
Chorus:
I see a little more of me everyday
I catch a little more mustache turning gray
Your mother is the only other woman for me
Little miss magic, what you gonna be?
Sometimes I catch her dreamin and wonder where that little mind meanders
Is she strollin along the shore or cruisin oer the broad savannah
I know someday shell learn to make up her own rhymes
Someday shes gonna learn how to fly
Oh that I wont deny
Chorus:
I catch a little more dialogue comin my way
I see those big brown eyes just start to lookin astray
Your mothers still the only other woman for me
Little miss magic, what you gonna be?
Yes she loves to ride into town with the top down
Feel that warm breeze on her gentle skin
She is my next of kin
Constantly amazed by the blades of the fan on the ceiling
Those clever little looks she gives just can't help but be appealing
I know someday shell learn to make up her own rhymes
One day shes gonna learn how to fly
That I wont deny
Chorus:
I see a little more of me everyday
I feel a little more mustache turning gray
Your mothers still the only other woman for me
Little miss magic, what you gonna be?
Little miss magic, what you gonna be?
Little miss magic, just cant wait to see
Its raining, its pouring
Your old man is snoring
I just know they will enjoy listening to Point Of Grace's "King Of the World" in the near future too...SO sweet!

:) love that Ella and her daddy have a special song:) Everything you wrote reminds me exactly of Travis and Emma! Except their song is "cowgirls don't cry".
And I can't believe baby is an onion!
Thanks for the starbucks today dear friend... it was such a wonderful start to my day!!!
So sweet! There is something so special about daddies and their girls. Amamzing how a grown man can be so instantly changed. Ella will always go to daddy when she needs something. I know Chris is counting on that with Presley!
That is so sweet! I love how much my girls love their daddy. That is the most important relationship they should have because he mirrors how our Heavenly Father loves them! Love that song too! She is just precious!
I love that post Amanda. It makes me cry! What a special bond they share, and the song he has for her is super sweet! I'm sure it will be what they dance to at her wedding! Ughhh Let's don't even think about that right now! ha ha
That post was so sweet...made me teary-eyed too.
And I'm sorry I haven't responded to your comment awhile back, but you know I would LOVE to do Baby Cannaday's birth announcement! Can't wait to hear if it's a boy or a girl. I'm predicting boy!
(BTW, enjoyed meeting your sis and baby Clayton the other day!)
Such a sweet post. There is something special about the bond between a baby girl and her daddy.
Thanks for the tears Amanda!
First day back in town after a week, catching up on The Cannaday blog and crying my eyes out! What a wonderful tribute to Zach and to Ella and to you for recognizing that special bond. You three are so blessed and I, too, can't wait until Friday to hear what our little onion is going to be! No matter what, he/she is so fortunate to be born to such loving parents and a big sis named "Ella Grace".
Aaaawww, how very sweet! You all are an adorable little family!
